Our ‘Red Rapped Reads’ shelves are still full of red books from all genres waiting to be selected, with the lucky reader, if they choose a tagged book, taking home some chocolates as well as the book of their choice! So come on into the library during Library Lovers Month – February – and try your luck – broaden your reading field and perhaps win some chocolates to go with your book!
Membership of the library is free – after filling out an application form, you are able to borrow at once from any of the 17,000 titles that the library holds. We have fiction books in all genres, and non-fiction on all subjects. There are also Large Print titles, talking books, DVDs, CDs, paperbacks and magazines to select from. For the children we cater to all ages from tots to teens. If you can’t make a choice, or have difficulty in finding your preferred books, just ask one of the friendly library staff for help.
The library also runs a variety of programs each week to suit all interested people. They range from Toddler Time for the youngsters to Brain Training for seniors. There’s also Knit and Natter, Colour and Chatter on a Saturday morning for all age groups. Just ask the library staff for information about each program or check the library events calendar on the notice board!
Plenty of new books have been added to the shelves during the last week. For those people who prefer to listen to books, five new Talking Books have been added to the collection. They include three mystery titles: And hope to die by J. M. Calder, Missing Justice by Alafair Burke, and Jane Goodall’s The Walker; as well as Die for you, a thriller by Lisa Unger; and Michael Clarke has written his biography My Story - read by David Tredinnick.
All these titles are available to be borrowed.
See you soon at the library!
